I am a traditionally trained artist with a passion for the creation of art. For me it's all about the processes of making art. Landscapes have been my passion, but I also am empowered by creating unique and inspiring pieces. My love for art began at a young age and has grown into a lifelong pursuit. I am not a business focused artist, I am a processed focused artist. My reality is that the product is what is left over when I'm done with the process of a piece of art. The product does pay the bills, but I live to create, so it's all about process for me. I'm at a point in my life and career where I'm committed to paying it forward. I find joy in mentoring other artists who are new or late coming to their creative life. I enjoy sharing the skills and processes and knowledge I've accumulated over my career. I also enjoy empowering individuals who think they know nothing about art to take back their power and realize that viewing and enjoying is half of the creative process.

Michael found his artistic soul during the educational period of his life. Being mentored at KCAI by Wilbur Niewald, a renowned landscape artist & prodegy of Thomas Hart Benton was inspiring. Then to go to UMKC and have Eric Bransby, a famous muralist as his advisor and friend after moving to Colorado was empowering.

The life of an artist can be lonely. Self-employed artists typically work solo. Everything depends on them handling the artistic side of it as well as the business and marketing side. Today Michael is focussed on building and support the artistic community he lives in. He focuses and participates in the local Reserve Our Gallery/Westside Gallery associations and the Mountain Artists Group, that he initially joined 27 years ago. It's a diverse bunch of creative individuals that do crafts, arts & fine arts but they promote and support their vast community.
